Ann Cusack is an American actress based in Los Angeles and London. Cusack starred in her first film role when Penny Marshall cast her as the illiterate "Shirley Baker" in A League Of Their Own. Since then she has carved out a career transitioning easily from every kind of role, genre, period, styles and viewing platforms. Whether she is playing one of the flight attendants in Clint Eastwood’s film Sully, or a crusty old judge in FX Network's Fargo, or the ex-wife of Michael McKean's "Chuck McGill" on AMC's Better Call Saul, she moves with skill and versatility with all characters and projects.She has had recurring guest star roles in numerous television shows such as the Amazon Original series The Boys, ABC's Station 19, the Hulu original series, Castle Rock, the Audience channel's, Mr. Mercedes, Showtime's Master of Sex, ABC's Scandal and Grey's Anatomy, as well as many other network television programs; Ghost Whisperer, The Unit, Ally McBeal, Criminal Minds, and Private Practice.
She also starred on David E. Kelley’s The Brotherhood of Poland New Hampshire for CBS, carried the sitcom Maggie for Lifetime, and played Jeff’s wife on The Jeff Foxworthy Show for NBC.
In films, she has had the privilege of working in Sully with Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart, in the comedy Multiplicity with Michael Keaton and Annie McDowell, Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo, played opposite David Strathairn in The Sensation of Sight, The Informant with Matt Damon, and What Planet Are You From? with Annette Bening and the late Gary Shandling... just to name few. And of course there’s Grosse Point Blank acting along with her brother John Cusack and sister Joan Cusack.
Raised in Evanston, IL she started training in improvisation and story theater techniques at The Piven Theater Workshop at the ripe old age of nine with Joyce Piven and the late Bryne Piven. She received her Bachelor of Fine arts from New York University. When not working in film or television, she sings with the blues band, Ann Cusack & The Generation Jones Band, they currently perform in and around Los Angeles.
Whether it’s comedy, drama, sitcoms, hour long dramas, independent films, studio films, short films, network programs, cable programs, webisodes, or streaming platforms, Ann Cusack has seen and done it all. She loves every minute of it.
